There is definitely still a LOT of work that Bugbear needs to do on the game, but IMO, once multiplayer is added it's going to be an outstanding game. The game runs great on my system (although admittedly I am running in Crossfire, but there is no profile for the game) at 2560x1600 with all the bells and whistles that are currently available turned on (with the exception of AA which I never use). The graphics are great, the damage modelling is awesome (it's an absolute wreck-fest with parts flying everywhere), and even with a keyboard it's easily playable. The demolition derby portion, which is what I really wanted anyway, is probably the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. So much so that after a few attempt I gave up on the racing. The racing portion of the game looks fun, but is painfully difficult using a keyboard to control the car in both gravel and on tarmac. I picked this up on Steam, and here are my thoughts of it in it's current pre-release state. He has since stopped playing the game.There has been a little chatter about this game in the Games section, but since the game has been dropped on Steam in the Early Access program I thought I would dedicate a thread to it. He created six episodes on the early access version from Steam and a further five episodes with later updates. Jacksepticeye made two episodes on the tech demo in December 2013.

The races emphasize is on 'vehicular combat' where the player must cause as much damage to other opponents' cars as possible, hence the secondary game name Wreckfest. The races have two goals: either win or become the lone survivor of the wreckage that ensues. Its still listed as Next Car Game on Steam Early Access and the like, but Bugbear Entertainment has settled on a proper name for its demolition derby.

Following a four-year early access phase, the game was updated to include racing, demolition derbies, letting the player purchase and sell vehicles, customization and researching. In the tech demo, with the game acting as the game engine, the player controls various vehicles and must cause as much damage to them as possible. The game is also under the alias of Wreckfest. Discontinued Next Car Game is a psychics-based game, developed by Bugbear Entertainment and published by THQ Nordic.
